Study Shows There is a Need for Better Access to Menstrual Hygiene Products
A new study shows that 50% of households with women and girls of menstrual age in Sri Lanka cannot afford to spend enough money on hygiene products such as sanitary napkins. The study titled “Taxing Menstrual Hygiene Products in Sri Lanka: A policy analysis” was published recently through the European Union (EU) funded project “Assisting Communities in Creating Environmental and Nutritional Development (ACCEND)”.

ADRA & Oxfam Supports Expansion of Health Information Management Systems and CKD/u Awareness
ADRA and Oxfam through its European Union funded Assisting Communities in Creating Environmental and Nutritional Development (ACCEND) project donated IT and electronic appliances to the Regional Directorate of Health Services (RDHS) of the Monaragala district to support the expansion of Health Information Management Systems (HIMS) in the Wellawaya hospital cluster and to create digital awareness regarding Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin (CKDu) in Monaragala district through 28 primary health care institutions.
