ADRA Provides School Supplies through its Helping Hands Project

On January 13th, 2023, ADRA made a generous donation of school supplies to 110 underprivileged children at Bopagoda Primary School in Akuressa Matara District. The current economic crisis in Sri Lanka has made school supplies unaffordable for many families, hindering children’s ability to access education. This donation will enable these children to continue their education with the necessary tools and resources.

The donation of school supplies was received with immense gratitude by the School Principal, who expressed his appreciation for the generous contribution from ADRA and its donors. The principal highlighted the importance of such contributions in ensuring that children from low-income families are not left behind in their education due to financial constraints.

The donation included basic stationery items such as pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, notebooks, and other essential items. These supplies may seem basic, but they are essential for children to succeed in their studies. With the help of these supplies, these children will be able to focus on their studies without worrying about the cost of school supplies.

The impact of this donation goes far beyond the immediate benefit of providing school supplies to these children. It is a message of hope and support to the families of these children, indicating that they are not alone in their struggles. This support can help alleviate some of the stress and financial burden faced by these families, enabling them to prioritize education for their children.

The donation of school supplies to the underprivileged children at Bopagoda Primary School is a testament to the compassion and generosity of ADRA and its donors. It is an important reminder that we can all make a difference in the lives of others, no matter how small the contribution. By providing these basic necessities, we are enabling these children to continue their education and work towards a brighter future.
